Don’t call it summer, it’s dry season – Pagasa

NILINAW ng Pagasa na ang nararanasang init ngayon ay hindi summer ang tawag, kundi dry season.

Ayon sa mga weather forecasters hindi nila tinatawag na summer ang panahon ngayon dahil dalawa lang ang panahon meron sa Pilipinas  — wet and dry o tag-ulan at tag-init.

Ang  dry season ay senyales na patapos na ang northeast monsoon, o ang hanging amihan na nagmumula sa Siberia.

Ayon kay Pagasa administrator Vicente Malano, idineklara ang tag-init dahil sa pagtaas ng temperatura sa maraming bahagi ng bansa.

“Expected day-to-day weather will become warmer and drier in most parts of the country due to the dominance of the ridge of High Pressure Area and the easterlies,” dagdag pa ni Malano.
