ISANG tradisyon na galing sa Germany ang Oktoberfest, isang worldwide celebration of food, beer, bands and more beer.
Through the years, this German tradition is being celebrated in several countries all over the world at kasama na diyan ang Pilipinas, where parties consist of local bands and local beers.
Here are a few things what make an authentic German Oktoberfest different from all the rest.
It’s not about the beer.
The original Oktoberfest is, aside from an amazing party, is a celebration of culture. In a German Oktoberfest, seeing kids around is not all that rare. Lasting up to 16 days, maraming mga pwedeng makita at gawin dito from learning brewing techniques to arts.
Dahil isang one big party ito, Germans tend to dress up in lederhosen or dirndl. Normal clothes are acceptable pero syempre try to dress to impress.
Siyempre hindi authentic ang isang Oktoberfest without German brews. And required na serve siya in a one liter mug, that you should hold up at all times, ready to chug it down as soon as someone shouts ‘prost!’ (cheers).
Dahil one big party, bawal ang mahiyain. Dance to traditional folk music, polka and marches! Get on top of tables and raise your beer! Or do them both at the same time. The most important thing is to have fun.
