WHEN the boys of SB19 said they’ll be in Negros for one of their stops sa kanilang nationwide tour they trended more than usual.
Apparently a lot of people online (not Pinoys) thought they committed a racial slur.
“Hello, Negros! We are now in your zone! Excited na kami sa mga mangyayari sa aming first stop for our nationwide tour.” ayon sa tweet
Some took the word ‘Negros’ in a bad way, saying it was a racial slur against colored people.
For those who do not understand what they meant, “Negros” is an island in the Philippines.

Hello everyone! We, A'TIN (SB19's official fandom), would like to clarify that Negros is a place here in the Philippines. This post is not in anyway racist. We hope that we can clear this misunderstanding. Thank you and good day!

This picture is for those whores who keep saying SB19 are racists, but Negros is literally an island in Philippines and divides into two, with Negros Oriental and Occidental. Please do research before barking.

According the government website of Negros Oriental, nang mapadpad ang mga Spanish colonizers sa Negros, tinatawag itong ‘Buglas’ ng mga natives, isang uri ng matatangkad na damo na makikitang marami sa lugar. However, once the Spaniards saw that a lot of the natives were black skinned, pinangalanan nila itong Negros.
