PLAYLIST: Top 7 ‘patok’ jeepney sound trip you’ve probably heard one too many

By: - 08/10/2018

Pinoys are music lovers by heart.

And jeepney drivers need music, too.

But did you know na ang mga “patok” jeep ang merong mga “basag-tenga” sound system.

In recent years, “patok” jeepneys are getting upgrades.  Aside from the heart-pounding bass that usually accompanies the music, ang iba ay meron pang mga mini-television kung saan nagpi-play pa madalas ang music videos kasama ang sounds. Aliw diba?

With that, we ask around kung ano ba ang usually sound trip o play list na pinatutugtog ni Kuyang Driver.

1. OPM 90’s Band remix – Tired of the usual OPM bands? Well nilagyan ng twist yan because they added special effects by including a (kadalasan generic) beat.

Listen here:

2. OPM rap – Isa pang madalas marinig ay mga rap by underground Pinoy rappers na with ehem explicit languages or hugot type ng rap.

Listen here:

3. EX Battalion – Probably in the rap category din pero may sarili silang playlist just because they are the most face ng mga Millennial Kuyang Driver.

Listen here:

4. 80’s music – For medyo oldies, we usually hear songs na medyo luma na pero nanatili pa ring favorite di lang nga mga “tanders” na drivers but the commuters as well. Sinong hindi nakakakilala sa New Wave sound, the likes of Air Supply and Beegees.

Listen here:

5. Favorite Radio Stations – Although kaunti na lang sila, there are some jeepney drivers out there who choose to listen to songs sa kanilang paboritong radio station. May kasama pang komentaryo ng mga DJ as they list down their top 20 of the day.

6. Indie – As bands like IV of Spades, Ben & Ben, Rouge, Autotelic and a lot more are on the rise, nag-uupdate din ang music ni Manong Driver.

Listen here:

7. Shanti Dope – Like Ex Battalion, Shanti Dope is one of the faves ng mga driver na mahilig sa rap music. Currently his song MAU, is always played sa mga ‘patok’.
