We all know that the hustle and bustle of Manila can be quite stressful for all, especially now that dry season is here.
Almost every day, we look for good places to chill out. Minsan para roon mag-aral, o makasama o maka-bonding ang family at friends.
We were lucky to find a café where we can do all these things at once.
THE CAFÉ ITSELF
The humble and quaint café can be easily found along Edsa in Caloocan City, near the Manila Central University. Location wise, it probably would not make it on your list of places to go to, but we think, it is worth the visit.
If you’ve set yourself up for some quiet time or a good bonding session with loved ones, Pages & Lattes is definitely a good option to consider going to. The bright but minimalist interior of this café will make you forget the stress and help brew some good vibes.
Another turn on: It is home to a variety of books for its customers to read and peruse. And if you’re desperately looking for a quiet place to study, a spot has been readied for you.
THE FOOD AND DRINKS
Hindi namin nasubukan lahat ng pagkain at inumin sa menu, pero that’s only because they have a huge variety of food and drinks to choose from. May rice meals, sandwiches, cakes, caffeinated and non-caffeinated drinks.
What we recommend is the “Swak Meals” serve with either hot americano or tea na “swak’ sa budget.
Pork Tocino (P79)
The best meal to eat at any time of the day and hindi pa mabubutas ang bulsa mo.
Breakfast Sausage (P89)
The texture combination of the meat inside and skin outside of the breakfast sausage was amazing. You won’t be disappointed with every single bite.
Garlic Tapa (P99)
Garlic Tapa is a big winner here . Cooked evenly, this dish is not too oily; and the meat is so tender and perfect ang amount of garlic that gives your taste buds a nice tingle.
Coming soon: Summer Drinks
We became the first customers na nabigyang pagkakataon na matikman ang latest creations nila made just for this summer: Ang mixed fruits smoothie, at lemon and peppermint.
Mixed fruits smoothie – a layer of fruits consisting of blueberry, green apple and mango, would simply douse the summer heat.
Fun fact: The recipe originated from the Middle East. Dahil sobrang hilig nila ng fruits dun, they creatively thought of this recipe.
Lemon and Peppermint
We all know how refreshing lemon can be, especially when heat starts to take its toll on us. This drink will simply chill you out.
